It’s all about the kids. They’re such goofballs, yet so impressionable. Daily, I’m thankful for the chance to positively impact their lives.

I loved school thanks to (most of) my teachers. On the flip side, I saw many of my peers hate school because of teachers (apologies if any of our teachers see this!). I always knew I wanted to teach because I wanted to one day create a space for both my students and I to grow and have fun. Middle school is so hard, and kids need support. I became a teacher to be there for people. To cultivate laughter and silliness, to teach friendship and gratitude, and to foster a lifelong love for learning.

Sad Beautiful Tragic. The last day of school told by Tswift… As a teacher, I often hear adults saying, “I’m scared for what’s to come if these kids are our future leaders.” On the one hand, totally valid; skibidi toilet is a little concerning. But on the other, these kids are kind. Goofy. Smart. Loyal. Hard working (even if it is on Minecraft). On the last day of school each period, I witness classmates turn into friends. Laughing. Crying. Hugging. Exchanging numbers. This memory gives me hope.

What would you do with the $25,000?

Buy pencils!!!! Also, we are moving to a brand new building next year, so I would love to purchase some new supplies and classroom decor. I teach Spanish 1 and often bring in Hispanic foods for students to try, and would love to not use my own checking account for once! I would pay for my masters- I am currently working towards a degree in Teacher Leadership. I bought a house in December, and would love to have money to buy a couch that isn’t second hand, though I do love a good thrift store!
