Tell us why you became a teacher

My decision to become a teacher was driven by a combination of personal experiences, a passion for education, and a commitment to making a positive impact. Teaching is not just a job; it is a calling that requires dedication, empathy, and a genuine love for helping others succeed. I am grateful for the opportunity to be a part of this transformative profession and to contribute to the growth and development of future generations.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

There are many, but the most memorable teaching moment for me was when we took our students to Washington DC. Many of them had never traveled beyond the city limits where they lived. Witnessing their faces light up with excitement as they saw the monuments they had only read about in textbooks was truly amazing. It was a beautiful experience to see them enjoy life, let their guards down, and simply be in the moment.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would pay off my car ($6,000), pay for my sons summer camp ($3500), take care of a few medical issues I’ve been putting off due to money ($5000) and then with the remaining I would donate it to the school where we would use the funds to assist with emergency barrier removals, such as helping a family turn their elective on, or providing a gas card, groceries, etc …
