Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I worked part time as a teaching assistant and had a knack for developing rapport with students. I love being able to help them learn , not only content, but about life in general. I love going to work everyday!

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable experiences in teaching are when my students come back to me and say how much they have learned and appreciated me as a teacher. I have been recognized by student athletes as having a profound impact on their educational careers. That means so much.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would pay off some debt. I would be more able to buy more hands on consumables for me classes. As a science teacher of over 100 middle school students, I use a lot of materials and unfortunately many are consumables only good for one time. I find that the ability to do something with the information is most helpful in having students truly understand and make connections.
