Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher to connect with little minds. I wanted to share my love of math and science but what happened instead is that I learned a lot about others human beings and how we all need each other.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My second year of teaching I was in a Title 1 school teaching algebra. The students were so nervous for the final test and all but one of them passed. It was the most exciting time that I never even thought possible.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would put the money away for retirement. We don’t do this job for the money and one day soon it is going to end. I want to be prepared for living without a paycheck.
