Learn MoreI became a teacher because a fifth grade PE teacher, saw promise in me on the playground and he got me involved in the Jesse Owens, junior Olympics. Where I would go on to meet Jesse, Owens achieving second-place, which further got me excited about teaching and coaching in fifth grade. I never knew how but, I knew I was going to make all this happen later on in my adult life. I knew it was a calling.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience40 years of teaching, weight training, and physical education in high school has so many memorable teaching experiences I could write a book! However, almost daily there is something cool that happens memorable! Last week a shy student from General PE asked if she could transfer into my Advanced Elective weight training class. My classes are tough, but she said she wanted a challenge! How cool is that? This might be a “game changer” for her future!
What would you do with the $25,000?I would love to build a cooperative learning, high ropes course or Rock-wall for our school.
