I’ve been an art teacher for almost 27 years, 550 kids a week, 2 schools, kindergarten-8th grade is ever changing and exciting! Love my job!

Register NowI wanted to be an art teacher to give children a well rounded education. To give them a “brain break” during their week and a chance to be creative. I feel like everyone can feel successful in art class as long as they give it their best and are willing to try something new.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceOne memorable experiences (not in a good way) would be the year of covid. Having schools shut down and creating art packets to send home each week was definitely a challenge. Especially when I teach 9 different grade levels. Another one is giving kids a black light experience. We’re creating an aquarium scene for the art show using fluorescent paint, paper and clay. Witnessing the kids excitement when turning on the black lights is priceless! They LOVE it!
What would you do with the $25,000?Honestly I would probably use it for some debt. We have had a lot going on personally. We had to replace our waterline, my washer died, we have to pull out garage down before it collapses, AND I have TWO kids getting married in the next 8 months. So. I could really use the money for all of these things. If there is any left over I would love to go to Italy with my husband. It’s the Art capital of the world in my opinion. I’d love to have some visual overload!
