Tell us why you became a teacher

Ever since I was a little girl I wanted to be a teacher. I love kids and how each one brings something different to the table. They bring me joy everyday! It is a difficult job, but I love the challenge of meeting my learners where they are at and finding their potential and helping them reach their goals. I also am also kid at heart and love playing games with them. My hope is that each leaner leaves my classroom knowing they are loved and can do anything they put their mind to.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

Each year at our school they place some Extended Resource Room kids in each of our classrooms. These learners all come with their own special needs and are typically only in our rooms for a short period of time. I love having these learners in my room for many reasons. They bring such a special spirit to our classroom atmosphere. I love to see my learners show empathy and kindness to them and make them feel special and included. My favorite thing is to see how excited they are to come each day

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would put the money away for my kids college tuition and pay off some debt.
