Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher after working as support staff in a school and realizing I truly enjoyed guiding and encouraging students on their learning journey. I went back to college as a non traditional student and challenged myself to achieve some new goals.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching experience is hearing my student laugh hard when we figured out how to use his TOBI to tell us all jokes and read books with verbal peers.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would use the money to cover living and traveling expenses to return to Falmouth All Age School in Jamaica to volunteer teach on my breaks. I would also reach out to friends there and see what school supplies are currently needed since I know from a past visit that they have very limited resources. I would also like to pay the airfare of a teacher friend there to come to the states to visit my home and my school!!
