Keyerin Coleman

As a student in Ms. Stephanie Celestie’s 2nd-grade class at East Clayton Elementary, my life was forever changed. Her love, patience, and encouragement made me a better student. Today, she’s my friend, mentor, and colleague. Growing up with teachers like her, I was surrounded by educators who cared deeply and inspired me to create that same atmosphere for my students. Now, I believe in them just as my teachers believed in me, and I’m dedicated to seeing them win in life.

My most memorable teaching moments come from the deep connections I build with my students and their families. These bonds go beyond the classroom, creating a lasting impact. Teaching Pre-K, 3rd, and 5th grade has been incredible, and I look forward to teaching 8th and 12th before stepping into administration. Each grade brings new challenges and rewards, but my goal remains the same—to inspire, uplift, and prepare my students for success in life.

If I received $25,000, I would invest it in furthering my education by pursuing a Specialist and Doctorate Degree in Educational Leadership. Education is a lifelong journey, and advancing my knowledge would allow me to make an even greater impact on students, educators, and communities. These degrees would equip me with the skills to lead, inspire, and create meaningful change in education, ultimately helping shape future generations for success.
