Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I want to show students that growth is possible, even in areas where they might struggle. I love sharing my own journey—how I wasn’t great at math but worked hard to improve. By teaching in a way I wish I was taught, I hope to inspire my students and help them develop the confidence to overcome challenges. It’s about making learning accessible, relatable, and showing them that success is achievable with effort and the right support.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable teaching moments was transforming the classroom into a cozy cafe, where students sampled different genres of books. It sparked excitement and curiosity about reading. Another unforgettable moment was during state test prep, when we went on an “Amazing Race” through the school, solving math puzzles and completing challenges to earn the next clue. The energy and teamwork were amazing, and it made learning feel like an adventure rather than a chore!

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I had $25,000, I would take my family on a vacation. After losing my grandparents and dad last year, we've been weighed down by so much sadness and negativity. A family trip would be the perfect way to bring us all together, create some positive memories, and reconnect in a way that we all really need right now. It would give us a chance to heal and celebrate the love we still have for each other, away from the heaviness of the past year.
