Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I wanted to make a difference in the lives of children and inspire a love for learning. From a young age, I was drawn to helping others understand new concepts and find joy in discovery. Teaching allows me to combine my passion for education with my desire to support and encourage students as they grow academically and personally. I believe that every child has the potential to succeed, and I wanted to be a part of their journey.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable teaching experiences was when I had a student who witnessed the fatality of his nephew before his very eyes. This experienced caused this student to struggle with math and lacked confidence in their abilities. This student would shut down during lessons and hesitate to participate. I made it my goal to build their confidence by providing encouragement, breaking down concepts into smaller steps, and celebrating small victories.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I had $25,000, I would invest it in enhancing my classroom and professional growth to better support my students. I would purchase engaging math manipulatives, interactive technology, and diverse reading materials to create a more hands-on and immersive learning environment. Additionally, I would attend professional development workshops or conferences to stay updated on best teaching practices and innovative strategies.
