The decision to become a teacher was deeply influenced by the love and support I received from my own teachers growing up. The lasting relationships I have with them today, even as an adult, are a testament to the strong bonds we shared. These connections inspired me to pursue a career in education, as I wanted to offer the same guidance, encouragement, and care to others.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

I think the most memorable experience is when my students come back to me as adults and remind me of the things we did in class when they were in elementary school. It may have been an average day to me, but to them it made an impact and resonated with them. Those experiences remind me why I chose this career.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would use the prize money to help set my kids up for their future. I have two little ones at home that have big dreams and I would love to help foster that. Also, I work during the summer to help provide for my family, so I would use this money to take my family on a summer vacation to build memories with them while they are young!
