Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I believe in the transformative power of education. Growing up, I experienced firsthand how a great teacher can inspire, challenge, and open up new possibilities. This deepened my desire to help others discover their own potential. I want to be a part of that process—guiding students not only in mastering content but in developing the critical thinking skills that will serve them for life. Teaching is a way for me to make a meaningful impact on today and the future.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching experience is hard to narrow down. Each time a student shows growth academically or emotionally, it is a memorable experience! I could write about the "big" moments that you often hear about; however, the most memorable experiences are in the small day to day interactions with my students. Having students see you as a safe person for them and then they are able to be themselves in the classroom. I get to spend time each day watching students grow into themselves!

What would you do with the $25,000?

With $25,000 I would be able to lighten my financial stress, put money towards future professional growth, and spend some much needed time with my kids on a vacation! Not only would the $25,000 help me with monthly financial stress, but I am so invested in continuing to develop myself professionally. Becoming a National Board Certified teacher is a goal of mine, and this would help me to pursue that goal! Plus, create memories on a vacation with my kids!
