Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher to continue to honor my late father's legacy. He was a selfless, loving role model. After his passing from liver cancer, I felt lost. Now, I strive to emulate his kindness & sacrifice, making a difference in students' lives & keeping his memory alive. I hope that this is something I can shine and even be an example to my baby boy and future grandchildren. I am extremely passionate to teach and I want to keep making the impact my father had on me and so many other educators.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching experience was with a student with disabilities, whom I taught from 6th grade onwards. I witnessed his transformation from a struggling student to a confident learner. Seeing him graduate middle school, surpassing expectations, was incredibly rewarding. Having him for multiple years allowed me to build a strong relationship & see his growth firsthand.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I win $25,000, I will donate to organizations that help communities thrive such as my church and other organizations that support all the youth, and organizations that supports babies and mothers. I think investing in our youngest and families will help make the world a better place. The way God intended us to live. I hope to be able to also invest & use the rest of the money to create a lasting impact, continuing to bless & support others in need, paying it forward & making a difference.
