Tell us why you became a teacher

Ever since I was a little girl , I used to play school with my kindergarten friend Jeannie. The dolls would be our students. We had an old fashioned desk w a chalkboard. I love children, taught emotionally disturbed children K-3 and nursery school. ,

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

Last year, an English as a Second Language mom told me at Spring conferences that I made a significant trajectory of her son’s learning at school. He was new to our school and got in some trouble and was a class clown. He started to respect her, so his Homework and still to this day, he visits me at my door everyday!

What would you do with the $25,000?

Honestly, to pay off debt, pay some college bills for our sons and do something for my mom & dad who are in their 80’s. They have been my rock. They deserve something special. We’ve been to Hawaii once as an extended family and my dad’s one wish was to go down to the beach with our help with his walker and touch the sand. I want to give back.
