To inspire growth, confidence, change, and knowledge in all students. To provide positive leadership and a safe place to land during the ups and downs of life. When students feel loved and supported, there is no limit to their success. Being a part of their journeys as they flourish is an honor. I’m passionate about learning, and that infectious positivity hopefully inspires my students to feel the same. My hope is to yield successful, confident individuals who never stop reaching for the stars.

When I received a message years later from a student expressing gratitude for always feeling so safe to be himself in my classroom. This student, now trans, taught me that teaching/learning goes beyond a textbook. It’s about positivity, acceptance, safety, kindness, problem solving, love, and so much more. While I hope my kiddos leave me knowing how to properly write a coherent essay and perfectly place a comma in a sentence, I REALLY want them to be prepared for life and to be happy humans.

I would use it to care for my little family and of course buy necessary supplies for my classroom without worry. As teachers, we pour ourselves and our paychecks into the classroom. It would be a blessing to do that with ease and without the stress of balancing home expenses and school costs. I’d also love to take a vacation with my family and parents who sacrificed everything for me to be where I am now. Without their support, I am nothing.
