I have always wanted to be a teacher! Even as a child, I used to line up my teddy bears and try to teach them math and reading. However, my teaching career did not start until later in my life as I was busy running my family’s business and raising my five children. I obtained my master’s degree in SPED at age 42 and pushed to pursue what I know I was meant to do--teach! I can connect with children and teach in different ways that helps students expand their mind and be curious in learning.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy love for teaching goes beyond the classroom. I have been privileged to have taught children in some unique ways and places! There are so many memorable teaching experiences, especially teaching first grade. Every day is different. Every day brings a smile to my face. Every day it brings joy to my heart to watch my students love learning. I love to challenge their young mind, to help guide their futures, and make a difference. That is the most memorable teaching experience!
What would you do with the $25,000?Well, that's a lot of money! As a mom, wife, and a teacher, it’s in my DNA to constantly give to others. I would use the money to purchase items for the classroom, pay student debt, and to visit my family and children that live out of state.
