Tell us why you became a teacher

My 1st grade teacher was a phenomenal influence on me becoming a teacher. She loved her job, I had fun & learned so much from her. I wanted to do that for other children. I kept in contact & even invited her to my wedding! I now love my job as she showed me she loved hers!!

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

More than once, I have had a young adult come back to my classroom (I teach K5) on the last day of school and say, "Do you remember me?" Some look familiar, some have changed a lot. They tell me how much they remember my class & how much fun they had. Then they tell me they learned a lot. There it is...why I became a teacher!! An 18 yr old coming back to their kindergarten teacher, warming my heart!!

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would like to upgrade the library books in our school library and updates to our staff lounge. It would be so amazing to have Bill Nye come to our school to give a presentation. Our students would be in awe of his "awesomeness"!! I have also wanted to do some upgrades on my house for many years. This would help me do that without cutting into my bank account.
