I love impacting students lives and being their safe space when they feel they have nothing or no one.

When I was in school I always wondered what it was like to be THE teacher in the classroom. I used to daydream about being able to grade papers and put stickers on students’ papers like my teacher did for my class. I loved learning, reading, creative writing so I always thought I would be the best teacher as a “grown up”. Fast forward to now, and I love what I do!
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceI will never forget the day I saw one of my students for the last time. I teach freshman English. A student of mine had some home troubles and was in trouble a lot in school. I treated this student with the most compassion and he appreciated me for it. One afternoon he left school early and I said “bye be safe see you tomorrow”. The next morning I found out he had passed away of an overdose. I will forever miss and remember him. I have his obituary on my bulletin board in my classroom.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would pay off my student loans and either, take a summer vacation to Disney, or pay for skin removal surgery due to me losing 100 pounds recently!
