Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I wanted a career that mattered. I love knowing that all the hard work I'm putting in is for such a great reason. It's such a joy to celebrate students achievements and watch them mature. Even in the tough moments in rewarding to know I'm helping young people make the best life for themselves.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My first year teaching, a student who already had such a special place in my heart, tragically passed away. He was a kind and funny kid who could have had the ability to make such a positive impact on the world. Mourning with my students was so incredibly challenging but I know it meant a lot for them to see how much love teachers have for them.

What would you do with the $25,000?

My fiancé and I get married in May and are currently saving up to buy a house to start our family. This would make a fantastic down payment for our future family home!
