Tell us why you became a teacher

Teaching is a passion, a gift. My father was an educator who taught me that education was not just within the classroom but lifetime experiences. I hoped to create relationships, be able to inspire my students through rigor, creativity and thinking outside the box finding a way to meet each child’s needs. My desire and drive to help children meet their full potential and see their greatness, the power of YET and inspiration.

What would you do with the $25,000?

The winnings would allow me to offer free tutoring programs through out the summer incorporating STEM literacy/programs for students. I would involve businesses and members within our community as well. I would also use a portion of the money towards my retirement and taking my family on a family vacation.
