Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher mostly because I have a huge heart for shaping little minds. I believe education is one the most important aspects of life, and I love having a role in making sure it happens.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching experience was my very first year teaching in a Behavioral Support Program. It was by far the most eye opening experience .. seeing students truly struggle to an extreme was heartbreaking but having them confide in us (educators) made me sure I made the right decision choosing to be a teacher. We do make a difference and I saw that in full motion my first year.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would of course put several dollars into buying student materials, little prizes, and dolling up my classroom. But.. truthfully , I’d use a great bit of it to get ahead on bills and debt. I’ve spent many years not being able to save money and I’d love to have a good strong foundation at this point in my life.
