Starting off as a bus driver, I wanted to do more. I prayed for an opportunity to be able to be greater in life. Parents appreciated me, kids loved me. I wanted to reach more people. An opportunity presented itself for me to get another Masters in Education. I jumped on the opportunity. I was the only person selected in my school district to go through the program for FREE. I knew I was following God’s will for my life. I was able to walk into my new career.

My most memorable moment is when I was able to collaborate with a program called Boyz II Men here at Parker Bennett Curry Elementary school with a community leader named Danny Carothers. Together we were able to take the young men in Boyz II Men and the young ladies if a group called Leading Ladies skating. A lot of students in the community aren’t able to do things outside of coming to school and going home. We were able to do that for them. Their smiles made it worth it.

With the $25,000 I would pour back into the programs here at Parker Bennett Curry like Boys II Men and Leading Ladies. With this money I will be able to create experiences for them to do things within the community, allow them to create experiences helping the community, and show them what it means to be an outstanding citizen. Using this money to help them create experiences where they won’t need to worry about money. All the students would need to worry about is making a difference.
