Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I love kids. I’m always amazed at how their little minds work and how they look at the world. Their views are so much different than adults and being able to foster that curiosity was something I had always wanted to do. I never wanted to be stuck at a desk all day, I wanted to experience the world, and what better way to do that than through helping to shape the little minds of children each day!

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching experience was at one of my Pre-k graduations. The parents had been working on a gift for me and surprised me with it. It was a book filled with the students answers about why they loved being in my class and what they learned and what their favorite parts were. It made me so happy and proud to read their answers. I felt like I had made an impact in each one of their lives that year and the book helped prove that. I felt the love that they had for the classroom and me.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I would use it to help buy my students some outdoor toys as well as a sensory table with fun sensory items to have in our classroom!
