Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I knew I was called to teach, love, and nurture children. Teaching is not just a profession for me—it is a calling, a purpose placed on my heart. From an early age, I recognized the deep impact a teacher can have on a child’s life, not just academically but emotionally. I wanted to be that positive force, someone who could inspire, encourage, and uplift students, especially those who may not always receive that kind of support outside of school.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching experiences are the moments I’ve spent helping students bring a show to life. Every production is a journey—watching students discover their talents, grow in confidence, and work together to create something meaningful is truly unforgettable. Seeing their hard work, creativity, and dedication come together on stage is a reminder of why I love teaching.

What would you do with the $25,000?

With the $25,000, I would invest in launching my tutoring business to provide academic support for students in my community, particularly those from underserved backgrounds. My goal is to create a program that not only strengthens students’ academic skills but also builds their confidence and fosters a love for learning. Additionally, I would use a portion of the funds to pay off student loans, allowing me to further my education and pursue a leadership role as a future administrator.
