I had AMAZING teachers who took time to learn who I was and build my confidence and help me to take chances allowing me to see my potential and grow. They never judged me nor made me feel small. They simple built me up. That is what I want to always give to young people. Confidence to see themselves as a “rockstar”
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceA young lady was a selective mute. I struggled for a few weeks to connect and I worried daily about her. Then one day I wrote her a note in a post-it and told her: “I see you”. I began daily to just write a simple note and then one day without me seeing her do it I got a post-it note on my laptop and so we began to communicate and from there she grew. She still writes me emails over a year later and she stops into my classroom to now SAY hi, get a hug, and and TELL me about what she is doing.
What would you do with the $25,000?Donate to a local school money for mental health educational resources, begin a scholarship fund for those interested in life-long learning or teaching, and pay off some credit card debt.
