I was inspired by the famous quote of Maya Angelo "When you learn, teach. When you get give." The classroom needs teachers to motivate and inspire others to learn. Making a difference in someone's life can leave a lasting impression. Having an impact on a student's life can change their life forever. The classroom needs teachers to motivate and inspire others to learn. The future is bright for students, therefore, we must break barriers that hinder learning. Sharing our story is powerful.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

I had the privilege to help create the first master haircare and braiding curriculum for Brunswick Community College. My focus was success. I relied upon my knowledge from my master's degree courses. I thought it was test time and failure is not an option. The first students to take the class have businesses and are successful. I am honored to be teaching one of the first three natural haircare and braiding cohorts in the state SC at Conway High

What would you do with the $25,000?

My goal is to continue my education. I would love to earn my doctoral in leadership. I would also donate more supplies and equipment for my classroom.
