I became a teacher because of my ag teacher, who made me feel seen—not just a number. I wanted to be the mentor I wished I had, someone who truly believed in every student. I strive to be that person for kids who might not have anyone to champion them, pushing them to see their potential and reach for more.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceOne of my most memorable teaching experiences was competing in several competitions with my students. Despite often being seen as the underdogs & even when my students doubted their ability to win we persevered together. Winning those competitions wasn’t just about the trophy; it was about the glow in my students’ eyes and the pride they felt from knowing that their hard work and determination had paid off Those moments are etched in my memory as they perfectly encapsulate the joy in their faces
What would you do with the $25,000?If I were awarded the prize, I would use the money to pay off my student loans. Eliminating that financial burden would not only bring me peace of mind but also allow me to reinvest in my career and continue focusing on making a positive impact in the classroom.
