I became a teacher because my high school art teacher inspired me deeply. I've loved art since I can remember, and as an artist myself, I knew that dedicating my life to both education and art would give me the purpose I was seeking. Thanks to my dynamic, creative, and energetic teacher, I was able to envision a future that I now strive to make my own. I hope to inspire students to imagine, create and innovate helping them discover their passions.

One of the most unforgettable moments in my teaching experience is when students begin to tap into their imagination and reflect meaningfully on the stories behind their art. As a multilingual teacher, I’ve had the privilege of connecting with students from diverse backgrounds—Ukrainian, Russian, Spanish, and English—which has helped foster a deeper sense of unity and understanding in the classroom. I treasure those early mornings when students eagerly rush into the art room to share their work.

If I won $25,000 in a contest, I would first take care of some practical expenses, like paying off my debts. I would also use part of it to invest in personal growth, taking courses and workshops to further my career. A portion would be set aside for growing my family. And, I would love to donate a part of it to a cause I care about such International Rescue Committee.
