Tell us why you became a teacher

I want to make a positive impact on students lives. Being able to share their passion for learning and have the opportunity to directly influence the next generation is one of my greatest joys in life. The moment that I realize I am proving knowledge and showing guidance motivates me to continue to do this profession. It’s a gift.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable moment is when I see a students grasp, reach, a difficult concept and overcome it. It’s that “Aha Moment”, that “Lightbulb Moment”. That’s when I know they have achieved a significant personal breakthrough. They have that confidence to do it again and again and again. They will be able to pass it forward. Now that’s a Beautiful Moment!

What would you do with the $25,000?

With $25,000 I would take my family on a vacation. Not only to enjoy being with my kids but to come back refreshed and teach again to provide those moments that got me here. I know I haven’t had all the time with my own kids cause I devote so much to students. I want to show them this pays off. They are also my priority. They are the reason I do this.
