When I moved to Clarksville, Tennessee, I was told that Austin Peay University needed teachers. I was hired to teach at the military base, Fort Campbell. Taking on a new career at 53 was unplanned, but it proved to be a joy to teach Public Speaking to such well- mannered service people.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceOne of my college students could not force himself to give a speech in front of a whole class so I let him present to me after class one day. After giving his speech, he realized he could do it and even wished he had chosen the way of his classmates. To this day, he takes leadership roles in his job.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would help my grandson buy a vehicle so he could have secure transportation as he begins a new career away from his birthplace.
