I didn’t plan to become a teacher. My high school CTE teacher kept begging me to double major because I was going to be a “CPA” get rich and drive a convertible with a phone in it like JR Ewing. I double majored so she would stop pushing. I was an accountant for less than two years and hated it. Called my high school teacher who got me in contact with a school system hiring. That was 23.5 years ago.

I have had so many memorable experiences that choosing one is difficult. Several years ago I had two students qualify for national competition in Texas. I accompanies them on their first flights and surprised them with tickets to Sea World on our off day. Upon entering Sea World and seeing the flamingos one of them looked at me and said, “Are those real?” I found out she had never even had the opportunity to go to a zoo before. I know that experience changed her life & her view of the world

I know I would spend some on my students. The candy I try to always have, more flexible seating options, and some new (and better) equipment. I would also take my daughters to Disney World. It is our favorite place and they deserve it for being so understanding when my job takes up my time. I would put the rest towards retirement.
