Well both my parents are teachers so that had a big influence on me. Their schedule allowed them to always be around for my brother and I. My wife and I are planning on having kids soon and I want that same flexibility for my kids. My high school teachers were also a big influence because they left a lasting impact on me and I knew I wanted to be that person for kids in the future.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable teaching experience hasn’t been one single time or one single day. It’s little moments throughout every week where I see a kid understand something for the first time or when I’m talking to a student and we realize we have the same guilty pleasure or we both like some niche pop culture thing. There are hard days in between, but those little moments are what I live for.
What would you do with the $25,000?My wife and I want to move into a bigger house and have more space to plan for a family. So, short answer, right into savings! We also have a cat and a dog that we love dearly, so the extra money would help with vet bills and providing them with everything they need to stay healthy.
