Teaching is an opportunity to shape the future. It gives me the chance to see kids eyes light up when they understand a new concept.

I became a teacher for a couple reasons. One to follow in the footsteps of my mother, who loves teaching and represents it as a great profession every day. The second reason is because I always thought it was my calling to teach . Even as a child I would teach the younger kids how to play sports. I loved seeing them grow and get better each time we played. I still enjoy seeing the kids eyes light up when they learn something new that will stick with them for a lifetime.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMy most memorable teaching experience was in my first couple years of teaching. I had a student who was not performing at a high level come to me and ask how they can improve. We came up with some steps that required some effort and some time. This student never missed another day of school or a tutoring session. During this school year this student lost both parents and continued to excel through all this and was an honor roll student to end that school year.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would use the $25,000 to take a trip to visit my mother, who is still a teacher. I would buy some supplies to make my classroom a more complete learning hub. I would also throw a killer end of year party in my classroom.
