Learn MoreI knew I wanted to help people in their youth recognize their worth. Being a kindergarten teacher, I get a chance at an early stage in a child’s education to help children fall in love with school but more importantly I can catch them while they are young and teach them to fall in love with themselves.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceI love the incredible teaching moments when things “click”, but some of my favorite times during each school day are when I see former students or their families and we excitedly exchange greetings. I would like to think that amazing learning takes place in my classroom, but nothing compares to the relationships that I have formed along the way.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would love to start a school garden in the kindergarten yard! I love getting my students outside and actively involved in their learning! A school garden can teach young children about nature, responsibility, and healthy eating in a fun, hands-on way. The connections to science, writing and art are endless!
