I once aspired to be an actor, but that path didn’t unfold as I had hoped. However, I found that teaching shares many similarities with acting—engaging an audience, delivering a compelling performance, and bringing stories and lessons to life.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceOne of my most memorable experiences as a teacher happened about five years ago at the beginning of the school year when a student came up to me and said, “I can’t read.” I told him, “I’ll help you.” Day by day, we worked together, building his confidence and skills. Then, on the 100th day of school, something incredible happened—he read an entire paragraph on his own and understood every word. The joy and pride on his face in that moment reminded me why I love teaching.
