I stayed at home with my own children for 15 years and saw the value I had in being their one on one teacher in life. We were able to enjoy learning together. I wanted to be able to affect other children’s experiences especially when it came to my love of science. I wanted to make science fun and accessible to most students, not hard or scary as many kids feel it is. I began as a special ed teacher who tried to make the lightbulb go on for the few I worked with.

My most memorable teaching experiences are when former students come back and tell me that they appreciated my teaching. Today I had a young man visit me who has enlisted in the Air Force, I had him as a student 5 years ago. He just came in to tell me how much my methods of teaching meant to him. Those are the moments I cherish most.

I would first pay off some debt and then I would put most of it towards getting my masters. I feel like learning is never done for the pro! And then maybe buy myself a little something to splurge!
