Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because of the positive experience I had in high school with my P.E teacher and coach. She was a role model to me and always gave me positive guidance to grow as an exceptional individual. I wanted to be that for others out there. Her passion to teach and coach lead me to follow in her footsteps. Additionally I wanted to teach the importance of health and fitness. From experience I know what the lack of nutrition and fitness can to do your body and your brain.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching moment is when I taught a mental health lesson. It was the last day and the focus was going off to college for seniors. The lesson involved lessons of asking for help, examples of resources, and quotes to live a resilient life. One student at the end came up to me and said that was the most meaningful lesson he has ever heard. This has stayed in my mind since. The power of words and meaningful lessons can change someone’s life. And after all that is my passion.

What would you do with the $25,000?

Unfortunately nothing fun it would go straight to my credit cards and outstanding loans I have.
