Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I wanted students to feel that they are important and their opinions matter. I also want to let them know that even though some subjects may be hard, they can do it and they can accomplish anything they desire.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching experience is when I've had former 8th grade students that would come back after they were in high school to tell me that they really learned a lot in the class I was teaching. I taught them how to be prepared for high school, what to expect, and how to plan for their future beyond high School. It was really great to see and know that I made a difference.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I want to either start my own math tutoring business so I can offer free or low-cost math tutoring to everyone or sponsor students to attend math tutoring to help improve their understanding of math concepts.
