I became an elementary school teacher because I wanted to make a lasting impact on children during one of the most formative stages of their lives. Early education lays the foundation for a child’s future, shaping their curiosity, confidence, and love for learning. It’s an honor to be part of that journey. Teaching young children is a special privilege because they approach the world with boundless curiosity and enthusiasm. Their energy, creativity, and potential inspire me every day.

One of my most memorable moments was helping a struggling reader finally read aloud confidently. After weeks of personalized support, they read a paragraph to the class for the first time. Their excitement and pride lit up the room, and the class erupted in cheers. Later, they told me, “I didn’t think I could, but now I know I can.” It was a powerful reminder of why I teach—to help students overcome challenges, build confidence, and realize their potential. Moments like that are priceless.

If I won $25K , I’d use it to create an engaging STEM lab in my classroom. I’d invest in hands-on materials like robotics kits, 3D printers, microscopes, and interactive tools to spark curiosity. I’d also fund exciting projects, like building model ecosystems or conducting experiments, to deepen learning. Additionally, I’d organize a STEM fair and bring in local scientists to inspire students. The goal would be to make science accessible& fun. I'd also travel a little!
