I love teaching because I can make a difference in students lives who thought they couldn’t graduate but then did and got a job.

Learn MoreI became a teacher to help individuals with special needs in high school with life skills, job skills and prepare them for after graduation. I like to be able to make a difference in kids lives and tell them just because you have a disability does not mean you cannot do what you dream to do as long as you put in the time and effort.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceMost memorable teaching experience was when I had a student come to me and tell me that he never thought in his whole life he would have been able to go to a vocational school and get certified in small engine repair because he could not read. He said if it was not for me his teacher he wouldn’t have pushed himself to accomplish it. He then later on got a job working on small engines. As his teacher to be able to make that difference in his life was very memorable.
What would you do with the $25,000?I would use part of the money to give back to my class to do more hands on learning and then try to pay off some school debt as well.
