I love teaching because it is one of the most important careers you could have. I devote my life to my students and agricultural education.

I always knew I wanted to be a teacher, the subject area wasn't important. I have a fascination with the "ah-hah" moment in students. I love that I am a piece to so many student's journey or story. I hope that they will look back one day and appreciate the connection with me as their teacher.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceI have only been teaching for 10 years and it is hard to think that puts me in the category of mid-career. I still learn new things everyday. I have a unique opportunity as an agricultural education teacher to get to know students outside of school through the National FFA Organization. My most memorable experiences was getting the chance to take students to Scotland and Ireland to compete in Livestock Evaluation. Even in my wildest dreams, didn't know how far teaching could take me.
What would you do with the $25,000?Honestly, $25,000 would be life changing. That is more than my salary for my first year teaching! Pursuing a high degree has been costly on my young family and the money would honestly go to helping my family's finances. Getting out of debt is my goal.
