I became a teacher to be the voice I once needed, to guide, uplift, and inspire. Every child deserves someone who believes in them, who sees their potential even when they don’t. I teach not just to share knowledge, but to spark confidence, to open doors, and to show that they are capable of more than they imagine. My purpose is to make a difference—one lesson, one student, and one moment at a time—because education isn’t just about learning, it’s about transformation.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

Teaching 5th grade was unforgettable. That group of students will always hold a special place in my heart because we faced challenges together. Many struggled with confidence, home life, or learning, but we built resilience as a team. I watched them grow, believe in themselves, and push past doubt. By the end of the year, they weren’t just students—they were strong, capable individuals. That year reminded me why I teach: to inspire, uplift, and make a lasting difference.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If awarded $25,000, I would use it to amplify our school garden, creating more hands-on learning opportunities for students while fostering a deeper connection to nature and sustainability. Additionally, I would launch a clothes closet for students experiencing difficulties at home, ensuring they have access to clean, appropriate clothing. This initiative would provide dignity, support, and a sense of belonging, allowing students to focus on their education without added stress.
