Jason Wade

I love putting my students in a position where they have success. Seeing their faces when they win at competitions is the greatest feeling.

Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because I have a passion for helping others learn and grow. There's something incredibly fulfilling about making a positive impact on students’ lives, sparking their curiosity, and helping shape their futures. Whether it's sharing knowledge or guiding them through challenges, teaching allows me to be a part of something bigger—shaping the next generation and fostering their potential.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

One of my most memorable teaching experiences took place last year at the Technology Students’ Association National Conference in Orlando, Florida. Two of my 7th-grade students placed 8th in the nation for their Mechanical Engineering project. The joy and excitement on their faces in that moment was one of the most rewarding experiences I’ve had as a teacher.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I were to win the $25,000, I would reinvest it into my STEM program, particularly my Technology Students’ Association chapter. The state and national conferences can be costly, and being able to ease the financial burden on my students' families—especially in a rural area of North Carolina—would be incredibly rewarding if given the opportunity.
