Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher because i have a deep passion for guiding and inspiring young minds. I enjoy helping children grow, develop confidence, and reach their potential. Teaching first grade allows me to make a lasting impact on my students’ lives, shaping their early learning experiences and instilling important values like perseverance, teamwork, and curiosity.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching moment was helping a young refugee from Haiti. She arrived knowing no English, shy and heartbroken from being separated from her mom. At first, she barely spoke, but with patience, support, and encouragement, she began to thrive. By the end of first grade, she was reading and writing on grade level, surpassing other EL students. The pride on her face was unforgettable. Watching her grow reminded me why I teach—to inspire, uplift, and believe in every child’s potential.

What would you do with the $25,000?

If I won $25,000, I would help my daughter build a home, giving her a strong foundation for her future. A safe and comfortable place to call her own would mean everything. I would also use part of the money to travel, exploring new places and creating unforgettable memories. Whether visiting a dream destination or experiencing different cultures, traveling brings joy and inspiration. Helping my daughter and seeing the world would make the winnings truly meaningful.
