I became a teacher to provide what I lacked growing up—meaningful relationships and support. I aim to help students recognize their strengths and understand that struggles don’t define them. It’s not about where you start; it’s about how you finish. My goal is to build lasting connections and inspire students to grow, overcome challenges, and realize their potential, ensuring they know their worth is not tied to any difficulties they may face along the way.

My most memorable experience as a teacher was creating a program that nurtured individuality, creativity, confidence, and skill. I taught students how to design outfits, sew them, and showcase their work in an end-of-year fashion show. The program developed their technical abilities while boosting their confidence, allowing them to express their unique ideas. The fashion show became an empowering and unforgettable event, marking their growth and accomplishments throughout the year.

If I win the $25,000, I will invest it into my fashion club to take my students to New York for Fashion Week. This trip will provide them with a real fashion show experience, inspiring them and showing them that they too could be part of the industry one day. It will be an opportunity to expose them to the world of fashion, motivate their creativity, and encourage them to pursue their dreams with confidence and passion.
