I began teaching safety courses to elementary students when I was in high school. I knew then that I wanted to spend my life teaching kids and making an impact.
Tell us about your most memorable teaching experienceI had a student who was dealing with some extremely difficult circumstances at home. This student knew that she could trust me and began talking to me during lunch and at the end be of the day. This student let me know at the end of year that our conversations helped her get through a very difficult time. She still keeps in touch with me and is doing very well despite the difficult situation she grew up in. Making a difference in the lives of individual students makes my job worth it.
What would you do with the $25,000?I have two teenage daughters, so that money would go towards their college education and study abroad programs. I would also like to help other students reach their dream of studying abroad.
