Tell us why you became a teacher

As a little girl of age 3 I knew I was destined to be a teacher. I would set up my stuffed animals as students and I would play school all day long teaching my "students" on my green chalkboard the letters and sounds. Being a teacher is so rewarding. There's nothing better when you are teaching a lesson and you can see how it just clicks with your students and they have that "aha" "I get it " moment!

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

I absolutely love teacher my 1st graders how to read and learning phonics rules in words to help them with reading. Early on in the school year I was teaching my class about magic e on the end of words how the vowel amd magic e become a vowel team and it changes the first vowel to a long vowel to say it's name. I had a sweet first grader raise his hand and tell me-now I get it I have magic e in my name! It's magical moments like this that makes teaching so worth it!😃

What would you do with the $25,000?

In a heartbeat I would take my 4 children to Disney World! As a teacher, my salary is not a lot and my children have always wanted to go and experience "The Happiest Place on Earth"!
