Math education is so important. To understand the world in both complex and simple ways requires mathematical thought. I love to teach math!

Tell us why you became a teacher

Honestly, I became a teacher to get a free masters degree. I kept teaching because I loved making a difference in my students views of math and the world.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

Every time a former student comes back from college and tells me I made math understandable for them or opened up a new career option. 3 of my currently co-math teachers are former students of mine.

What would you do with the $25,000?

Buy so many expo markers. I’d love to be able to play in a masters water polo tournament in Spain or do a long swim in Croatia.
