Hana Tallan

I love teaching because students success is measurable and growth in real time. Some of the students are like Sponges remembers what taught.

Tell us why you became a teacher

I became a teacher to empower students for their future especially, in the political climate that makes a lot of people uncomfortable. I believe in the Every Student Succeeds Act with the appropriate support. I am passionate teacher, counselor in nature and a future principal. So many families count on me to help them with issues with adolescents and turn to me for academic advice for their children’s’ future education.

Tell us about your most memorable teaching experience

My most memorable teaching experience is when I make learning seamlessly with students engaged in discussion using total participation techniques.

What would you do with the $25,000?

I’m getting my MSEd degree and with that I owe student loan. Mostly, I raised five successful children who are still building careers single handedly in teacher’s salary. You can imagine the love of always living in paycheck to paycheck with a deficit.
